Ankara Esenboga International Airport (ESB).

Are there direct flights to Ankara?

If you are traveling from Munich or Düsseldorf, there are direct flights available to Ankara. If you have a connecting flight via Istanbul, please make sure your layover is at least 1:30 hours to avoid any issues in Istanbul.

What are the best airlines or travel routes to take?

SunExpress is our favourite for routes between Germany and Türkiye. There are also two budget airline options — Pegasus and AJet. Pegasus has luggage restrictions, so you may need to pay extra fees depending on how much you're bringing. AJet is usually delays, so you should avoıd it unless it's your only option.

How early should I book my flights?

September is one of the busiest and most expensive travel months, so you should book your flights as early as possible to get the best rates (~90€ for now).

How do I get from the airport to the city center?

There are two shuttle/bus services running between Ankara Esenboga Airport and the city center (Kızılay stop): Havaş and BELKO. Both are reliable. The fare is approximately 200 TL (around €4). Only cash Turkish Lira is accepted in these busses. Before leaving the airport, there are ATMs located on the ground floor where you can withdraw Turkish Lira if you need cash before you exit the terminal.
